Antonina Zharko
Photographer based in Tanzania, East Africa
Antonina Zharko is a photographer and storyteller based in Tanzania.
Her work explores the intersection of culture, nature, and inner transformation — often emerging from long, immersive stays in remote parts of East Africa.
Years of experience
Having begun her career in fashion and editorial photography, Antonina’s focus gradually shifted toward more intimate, human narratives. Her recent fieldwork along the shores of Lake Tanganyika marks a turning point — from creating images of beauty to exploring the depth of belonging, identity, and the quiet resilience of life in transition.
Beyond photography, Antonina leads small, introspective journeys into Tanzania’s wild and cultural landscapes — connecting travellers to the stories and spirit of the land she calls home.
She currently lives in Arusha, where she continues to develop long-term projects rooted in authenticity, observation, and emotional truth.
